Case of rare monkeypox virus confirmed in Maryland: second U.S. case this year
For the second time this year, a case of the monkeypox virus has been confirmed in the U.S. The most recent case appeared in a Maryland resident who recently traveled from Nigeria, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said Wednesday.
